Press ⌥Space over the app you’re using.

Capture a thought, make a task list, or paste a reference.

Pick up where you left off
Press Esc to close Aside. Use the shortcut again to return to your note.
Start your trial or activate a license
Already bought Aside? Choose Enter license key… and enter your key to activate it. To try Aside first, choose Start writing. Your full 14-day trial begins when you start writing.
Where are my notes and images saved?
Paste or drop an image into a note. Aside saves each note as Markdown and keeps its images in an assets/ folder. Choose your Pages folder in Settings, including a folder you already sync with another service.

Keep pages within reach.
Create a page, return to a recent note, and clear your quick list when you’re done.
02 · Return
Return to a recent page.
Show Pages to switch notes or drag them into your own order. Control-Tab cycles through recent pages.

03 · Clear the list
Archive a finished page.
Remove finished pages from the quick list. Your files stay in your library; restore a page from Archived Pages.

Customize
Adjust Aside when you need to.
Use Settings to adjust panel size, text, appearance, and shortcuts.
Panel size
Adjust the panel.
Make the panel smaller, fit it to its contents, enlarge it, or resize it with the mouse.
Text size
Adjust the text.
Decrease, reset, or increase the editor text size from the keyboard.
Appearance
Choose an appearance.
Use System, Light, or Dark appearance. Try each one in the preview.
Shortcuts
Set your shortcuts.
Open Keyboard Shortcuts from the menu, or record your own bindings in Settings.
